Electricity trading on Albania’s ALPEX day-ahead market rose sharply in August, with volumes reaching 244.5 GWh, up 8% from July and 39.6% from a year earlier.
Trading for the Albanian bidding zone totalled 166.2 GWh, while the average market-clearing price was €146.88/MWh.
The value of transactions reached about €67.4 million, a 73.5% year-on-year increase, substantially outpacing the growth in physical volumes as wholesale electricity prices remained elevated.
The figures underline the expanding role of organised exchange trading in Albania as liquidity and regional market integration develop.
