Albanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) has approved new tariffs for the access to the distribution network for consumers in business category. On top of electricity prices, business consumers that are supplied by 35 kV network will pay additional 0.011 euros/kWh, while those supplied by 20 kV network will pay additional 0.028 euros/kWh to the distribution system operator OSHEE.
In accordance with this decision, some 6,200 companies that are connected to 20 kV network will pay up to 35 % more for the supplied electricity, while 82 companies on 35 kV network will pay up to 15 % more.
New fees will come into force during 2017 and, according to OSHEE, nearly all technical infrastructure for the measurement system on the 35 kV network will be ready by February. So it is expected that as of next months, these customers will start paying additional 0.011 euros/kWh for distribution fees on top of regular electricity price of 0.07 euros/kWh. However, OSHEE expects that these customers will be able to find suppliers with cheaper prices in order to offset higher distribution fees.
Regarding consumers on 20 kV network, it is expected that new distribution fees will come into force in the second half of the year. On top of electricity price of 0.08 euros/kWh, these consumers will pay additional 0.028 euros/kWh for distribution fees.
