Albanian state-owned electricity companies – Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) and electricity distribution system operator OSHEE will sign a new contract which will regulate electricity sales and purchases. The contract will be valid retroactively, from March to December 2019.
The draft contract envisages that KESH will sell a total of 3,950,000 MWh of electricity to OSHEE in the abovementioned period. However, if hydrolog-ical conditions improve and KESH manages to produce more electricity, it could offer additional quantities to OSHEE, up to the amount equaling Albania’s total consumption. The price of additional offered electricity would be 1 eurocent/kWh.
In case KESH fails to ensure agreed quantities of electricity, the company has to compensate OSHEE’s expenses for obtaining missing electricity elsewhere.
