During the first week of May, the Albanian energy company OSHEE put electricity surplus for May 2015 (for tariff customers and covering of losses) on the auction on the free market, 440 MW divided into three lots.
At the end of the auction, which was attended by 11 licensed companies, was achieved an average price of 28.40 euros per MWh for the profile 24 hours (00:00 – 24:00), the average price of 26.52 euros per MWh for the profile “off- peak” (00:00 – 19:00 & 22:00 – 24:00) and 26.04 euros per MWh profile “off-peak” (00:00 to 07:00, 10:00 – 19:00 & 22:00 – 24:00). In accordance with a report on the Hungarian Stock Exchange (HUPX) on April 30, the price for the profile 24 hours was 24.23 euros per MWh.
Favorable hydro-meteorological situation in the basin of the River Drin during the last three to four months allowed the increase of the amount of water in accumulation.
During this period KESH produces enough electricity to meet the needs of tariff customers, to cover losses in the transmission and distribution of electricity and to export the rest of electricity. Operating mode in hydro-accumulations Fierze, Koman and Vau Dejes means the maximum allowed quotas, which enables the creation of significant reserves, which will ensure stable production in the future.
