Electricity consumption has been increased due to cold weather conditions and it cannot be fulfilled with only domestic supply.
In order to meet the regular supply, OSHEE launched a tender for the import of 265.200 MWh of electricity for the period from December 21, 2016 to January 31, 2017 with a total value of EUR 13 million.
The average electricity price for the period from December 21 to December 31 is 49.08 EUR per MWh and 50.99 EUR per MWh, while for the period from January 1 to January 31, 2017 the average price is 50.9 EUR per MWh. For the whole period of 40 days, the average price is 49.08 EUR per MWh.
Companies Devoll Hydropower, EFT AG, GSA, NOA Energy Trade, Danske Commodities, GEN-I Tirana and AXPO doo Beograd have won tender.
At the beginning of December OSHEE announced that there has been increase in electricity consumption due to sudden cold weather conditions. Company KESH confirmed that it could not meet the increased demand taking into considerations planed overhauls in the period from December 16 to December 31, 2016.
Due to this situation, OSHEE has decided to launch a tendering procedure for the purchase of electricity in the free market.
