Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said during the meeting with EU officials that the Government plans to list state-owned electricity distribution system operator OSHEE on the stock exchange by the end of this year.
If it happens, it will be the first initial public offer-ing (IPO) of shares in major state-owned company in Albania, however, there are no information re-garding the amount of shares the Government plans to sell. Head of the Albanian Stock Exchange Artan Gjergji said that the listing of OSHEE shares will likely stimulate other activities on the ex-change, because it will be the first time that Alba-nian citizens have the change to buy shared of state-owned company.
Also, there are no information regarding the part of the company that will be privatized, as OSHEE currently constitutes of three separate entities re-sponsible for the distribution, retail and commer-cial operations.
