Norwegian Statkraft AS, the biggest European renewable energy producer and leading company in Norway, has entrusted 100 million EUR worth job related to supply of six generators and auxiliary equipment for construction of the new HPP on Devoll River in South Albania that will be constructed by Devoll Hydropower Sh.A, Statkraft’s subsidiary in Albania.
The contract includes construction of two substations with the voltage 220 KW and 110 KW high and all related equipment. The biggest part of arranged equipment will be produced in Alstom factories in Spain and Turkey.
Albania relies on electricity production HPPs that occupies even 90% of national energy mix. The project on Devoll River is the first public-private investment in the country so it is the one of the biggest hydro energy investments on Balkan.
