The total volume of electricity traded on the day-ahead market of the power exchange Alpex reached 157.8 GWh in April, its third month of cross-zone trading, Alpex said in a monthly report.
Of the total, 83.7 GWh of electricity was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone, and 74 GWh for the Albania bidding zone, with an average price of 61.04 euro/MWh.
The energy flow from the Albanian bidding zone towards the bidding zone of Kosovo reached 1.01 GWh, whereas Kosovo exchange members supplied 32.8 GWh to their Albanian counterparts.
Alpex, founded by Albania’s electricity transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, has 24 members in the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo. Trading in the Albanian zone began in April 2023.
Its first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31, for the electricity delivered on February 1.
The total volume of electricity traded in the day-ahead market in March amounted to 152 GWh.
