Albanian renewables developer Vega Energy has secured two new contracts for the construction of renewable projects in the country, adding a total of 64 MW of installed capacity to its portfolio. The agreements include full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the projects, although details regarding the contract values and the investors involved have not yet been disclosed.
These new projects highlight Vega Energy’s continued growth in Albania’s fast-developing renewable energy sector, where solar power is playing an increasingly important role in the national electricity mix.
Operating as part of the Vega Group, the company initially entered the renewable market in 2018 under the name Vega Solar, primarily focusing on rooftop solar installations for commercial and residential clients. In 2022, the group reorganized its operations to focus more on large-scale solar developments, and its strategy has since prioritized the development and construction of utility-scale solar power plants across Albania.
