Bosnia: 127MEUR new HPP Vranduk project tender attracts 39 competitors
, SEE Energy NewsThe international public invitation for pre-qualification of companies and consortia for the construction of HPP Vranduk is currently performing. Since there is a great interest for it, the original deadline (April 17th, 2014) has been extended to April 29th of 2014. So far 39 companies have purchased the pre-qualification documents, it is announced from the Electric Power Industry of BiH.
After the closing the deadline, the evaluation of applications will be accomplished and applicants who prequalified themselves, in May will receive a request for submitting bids.
Project of HPP Vranduk is financing from its own funds and international financial institutions.
Loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is signed and active, and the approval process of the project funding from the European Investment Bank is in procedure.
The total value of HPP Vranduk is 127 million euros, and a preliminary exploratory works for the construction project for HPP Vranduk are in progress.
During the research around 40 drill holes on the barrier profile, at the entrance building, machinists, and along the future reservoir of HPP Vranduk will be carried out.
The aim of the study is to prepare a comprehensive geological and geotechnical, geophysical and seismological background in order to create the conditions for the main design engineer of HPP Vranduk to start the construction as soon as possible after entering the work.
The first phase is completed and the second phase is launched of the expropriation of properties at the building location of HPP Vranduk in the Municipality of Zenica.
HPP Vranduk is important from the aspect of environmental protection and stability of the system, for increasing the production and reliability of supply of customers.
Construction of hydroelectric power opens up the possibility of employment of local labor, particularly form construction field, while the period of the exploitation of premise enables creating now jobs and distribution of various types of fees, the incentive for the local community development and the Federation.
