A major step toward strengthening industrial energy supply in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been made as Aluminij Industries, part of the MT Abraham Group, signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement.
The contract, concluded with Aktor LNG USA, foresees annual deliveries of around 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas starting in 2030. It is structured as a 20-year deal, with a total estimated value of approximately €3 billion.
This agreement marks an important move toward improving energy stability for industrial operations, particularly aluminium production in Mostar. As part of the broader arrangement, plans also include the construction of a gas-fired power plant within the factory complex to further secure reliable energy supply.
Overall, the deal is part of a wider strategy aimed at enhancing energy security and modernizing industrial infrastructure through the use of natural gas as a transitional fuel.
