Bosnian state-owned power utility is in advanced talks with the municipality of Banovici on the project for the construction of 10 MW solar power plant.
The municipality will enter the projects with providing a land plot of 100,000 square meters where the power plant will be built, while EPBiH will provide the financing for the construction. Following the signing of the contract with municipality, EPBiH will launch a tender for the selection of a contractor for the construction of the plant. The construction should start in 2023 and the plant should be completed within 18 months.
In an effort to increase its RES portfolio, EPBiH plans to build solar power plants on the ash deposits of its coalmines Kreka, Breza and Kakanj, and its coal-fired TPP Tuzla by 2030.
