Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH has launched a tender for the construction of 8.36 MW Banovici Selo solar power plant.
According to tender documentation, estimated cost of the project is 6.9 million euros. The deadline for the submission of bids is 16 January 2023, with the main criterion being the lowest price offered.
The start of the construction is expected in early 2023 and the plant should be completed within 18 months.
In early November, EPBiH said that it has signed a contract with the municipality of Banovici for the construction of the solar power plant. The municipality will provide 10,500 square meters of land for the future Banovici Selo solar power plant, while EPBiH will provide financing for the project.
In an effort to increase its RES portfolio, EPBiH plans to build solar power plants on the ash deposits of its coalmines Kreka, Breza and Kakanj, and its coal-fired TPP Tuzla by 2030.
