The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has approved two grant agreements from the German development bank KfW to support the construction and post-development phase of the 50 MW Vlašić wind farm project near Travnik.
Under decisions adopted on the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Federation accepted grant financing totaling nearly €22 million for the project developed by the state-owned utility EPBiH.
The larger portion of the funding, amounting to up to €19.93 million, will be allocated to preparatory works, construction activities, and technical assistance related to the project. The package also includes coverage for costs linked to exchange-rate fluctuations.
An additional grant of up to €2 million has been approved for post-construction activities at the wind farm. These funds will be used for environmental monitoring and operational optimization measures, including a two-year study of bird and bat populations in the area.
Part of the second grant will also support technical compliance verification of installed equipment, as well as measures aimed at improving operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and production management through enhanced use of project data.
