“Hidroelektrane na Vrbasu” (HEV), recorded a net profit of 1.5 million euros in the first three months of 2021, which is 3.5 times more compared to the same period last year.
HEV is a subsidiary of Bosnian power utility ERS, that operates two hydropower plants Bocac 1 and Bocac 2. The company’s operating revenues increased in the January-March 2021 period by 60 % reaching 3.6 million euros, while operating expenses rose by 12.5 % to 2.05 million euros. The main reason for higher revenues is increased electricity production due to good hydrology in the first quarter of the year. Construction of HPP Bocac 2 started in September 2015 and it was commissioned in late 2018. It has installed capacity of 8.76 MW and expected annual generation of 46 GWh of electricity. It is built within HPP Bocac 1 complex, which has 110 MW power output, annual production of 307.5 GWh of electricity and was commissioned in 1981.
