During May 2021 gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 565 GWh, which is by 18.2 % higher compared to May last year, when it amounted to 478 GWh. Net electricity production amounted to 519 GWh, of which 200 GWh (38.5 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 292 GWh (56.3 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 27 GWh. In May, electricity imports amounted to 55 GWh, compared to 56 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 186 GWh, compared to 94 GWh last May. In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 332,931 tons, which is 8.3 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 363,231 tons. Lignite production in May 2021 amounted to 150,433 tons, while in May 2020 it amounted to 181,894 tons, a 17.3 % decrease. Coke production in May 2021 totaled 83,749 tons, which is 44.8 % more than 57,839 tons produced in May 2020.
