MET Group, a Hungary-backed energy company, is set to receive a temporary license for electricity trading in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The license will be granted to its subsidiary, MET Energy BH, for a two-year term, starting from December 19, 2024, to December 18, 2026.
MET Energy BH, which was registered in Banja Luka in November 2023 with a capital of €500,000, is a part of MET Sales and Trading Holding, based in Switzerland. MET Group specializes in the natural gas and electricity markets, with a focus on wholesale trading, commodity sales, renewable energy and industrial assets.
The company operates across 15 countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine. MET Group is involved in 30 national gas markets and 22 international trading hubs, employing over 900 people.
