In January, Swiss-based EFT Group, one of the biggest electricity traders in BiH, said that it plans to build a large-scale solar power plant near Bileca. The Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS) decided to sign a contract with EFT International Investments Holding for the construction of a 60 MW solar power plant near Bileca.
The tender was launched in early March. The concessionaire will have to pay a one-time fee of 357,000 euros and 0.28 eurocents/kWh produced by the plant, translating to 2.8 euros/MWh. RS Government estimated the investment at 35.7 million euros. The expected annual output is 84 GWh. The concession is awarded for the period of 50 years.
EFT Group operates 300 MW coal-fired thermal power plant Stanari and nearby coalmine, the first private large-scale investment in BiH energy sector. The plant recorded profit of some 20 million euros in 2018.
