According to data published by the Republic of Srpska (RS) Statistical Office, the entity produced a total of 8,354 GWh of electricity in 2018, which is 24.5 % more compared to the previous year, when production reached 6,708 GWh.
Thermal power plants produced 5,306 GWh or 63.5 % of 2018 production, followed by hydropower plants with 2,974 GWh (35.6 %), while 74 GW were produced by other sources. RS imported a total of 315 GWh of electricity in 2018, compared to 587 GWh in 2017, while electricity exports increased to 4,458 GWh from 3,104 GWh in 2017.
