After successful implementation of the project for the construction of thermal power plant Stanari, which started commercial operation on December 1, 2016, EFT Group plans to intensify activities on the project for the construction of hydropower plant Ulog on the river Neretva.
Svetomir Prokic, Head of the company EFT HPP Ulog, is satisfied with the scope of activities carried out in 2016.
“During 2016, detailed geological researches were carried out in the area of hydropower plant main facilities as well as pilot injections at the site of future dam. Based on the results of these activities certain modifications of design solutions were carried out with the aim of overall optimization of the project,” says Prokic.
EFT announces significant activities in the coming year which would show results at the beginning of construction in 2018.
“The implementation of the tendering procedure for the engagement of main contractor for the construction of HPP Ulog with the installed capacity of 35 MW is planned in 2017. At the same time, activities will be focused on closing the financial structure and the implementation of the remaining preparatory works before the beginning of construction”, explains Svetomir Prokic.
According to the planned time schedule of the project, the beginning of commercial operation of the hydropower plant is expected in 2021. The total planned investment of the project amounts EUR 66.5 million.
