Bosnia: EPBiH to invest 860 million euros in 2018-2020 period

Bosnian power utility EPBiH announced that it plans to invest 860 million euros in the next three years in electricity production and distribution activities, capital project and recapitalization of its coalmines.

The company’s strategic goal in the 2018-2020 period is to launch five capital project, including the construction of unit 7 at thermal power plant Tuzla and Podvelezje wind farm. Investments in capital projects in the next three years account for some 700 million euros. In the observed period, EPBiH also plans to produce 21,873.6 GWh of electricity.

According to unofficial information, EPBiH recorded a loss in the amount of 10.8 million euros in the first nine months of 2017, mostly due to poor hydrological situation throughout the year. It is expected that the company will record a loss at the end of the year as well, which would be the first time since 2010.
