According to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), it is planned to generate 9,437 GWh of electricity in 2017, while consumption will reach 8,495 GWh.
Coal production is planned to reach 7.7 million tons in 2017, while coal consumption is projected at 7.6 million tons in the same year. Of that amount, some 6.5 million tons will be consumed in the process of electricity generation in thermal power plants.
Regarding oil and oil products, FBIH plans to import 730,000 tons of oil products in 2017, while additional 220,000 tons will be produced by oil refinery in Bosanski Brod. Planned natural gas imports (which equals planned consumption in this case) will reach 170 million cubic meters, that will be supplied by Russian Gazprom. Planned gas consumption for 2017 is one percent higher than realized consumption in 2016.
