The reconstruction of HPP Rama, the biggest power plant included in the Electric Power Industry of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia, was co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany, with a donation worth 7 million euros, then the Electric Power Industry of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia with 10 million euros (KfW loan), and the Government of Federation BiH with 2.8 million euros. Due to the extremely complicated power plant reconstruction, its importance within this company’s system and the fact that, during the reconstruction, a part of the power plant was in operation, the works lasted for as much as eight years.
At the celebration in Rama, the Letter of Intent about the construction of the Wind Power Plant Mesihovina was also signed between the investor, the Electric Power Industry of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia and the contractor, German company Siemens, which will build the first wind power plant in BiH in two years and for the total amount of 71 million euros.
The construction of the hydro power plant Vranduk on the river Bosnia was also contracted, in which the Electric Power Industry of the BiH will invest 56 million euros. The works will begin on 1st April and they have been entrusted to two companies – Strabag from Austria and Končar from Croatia.
The HPP Vranduk will be the first hydro power plant built by BiH after as much as 40 years!
According to the announcements from the companies that got this job, Lake Vranduk will be six kilometers long, whereas the dam height will amount to 19, and the length to 120 meters, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
