Municipalities Foca and Foca-Ustikolina in BiH Federation made principal agreement for joint actions in realization of construction projects of Drina HPPs.
October change of Foca Municipality Mayor brought to change of attitude about construction of 4 HPPs on Drina, the project 400 million EUR worth. German investor RWE company is more than welcome at the moment- Federal television reports.
-Construction of these objects was never questionable for us. This was a political question. If it was questionable, we would never own “Buk Bijela” which exist more than 30 years- Foca Mayor, Radisav Masic, said.
Announcements of this energy project had never been popular and accepted only 20 km downstream from Foca in Foca-Ustikolina. However, the first man of Foca-Ustikolina changed his mind and announced concrete moves.
Zijad Kunovac claims that he will ask city hall if they agree with approving of research work for this project on the next session.
Both mayors claim that this will influence their local communities positively, especially in construction phase.
Despite official change of attitude from municipalities leaders the environmental organizations are still gathered and still neglected by all actors, FENA reports.
