Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS), Petar Djokic discussed the possibility of investing in the construction of wind farm on the territory of Nevesinje municipality with the representatives of the company VE Grebak.
CEO of VE Grebak Miralem Campara said that the company has the support of the local community and is willing to put its technical and financial resources in this project, which would also encourage the economic development of Nevesinje municipality. According to Campara, the project envisages the construction of 49.5 MW wind farm Grebak, with annual electricity production of 130 GWh. Total investment in the project would be about 65 million euros and it could be completed in two years.
Minister Djokic has expressed readiness to support this initiative, pointing out that eastern Herzegovina is very promising area for the construction of wind farms, due to its climatic conditions. He added that the Ministry will deliver project documentation to all other Ministries and institutions relevant for obtaining permits, with the aim of swift start of procedure for granting a concession.
Action plan for renewable energy of the Government of RS between 2015 and 2020 envisages the construction of two wind farms: Hrgud and Trusina. The construction of 48 MW wind farm Hrgud will start in 2017, it will be the first such facility in RS with annual generation of about 126 GWh of electricity. It is expected that it will be online in 2020. The construction of 51 MW wind farm Trusina near the town of Nevesinje, with annual electricity generation of some 160 GWh, should also start in 2017.
