After successful completion of the analysis and revision of the project, the municipality of Zenica with the chinese state company “Sepco 3” has signed a contract for the construction and purchase of equipment for cogeneration plant by which are laid the foundations for final beginning of the construction work on this most important infrastructure project in Zenica and one of the most important energy projects in this part of the SEE region.
“Sepco 3” is committed to complete the project within 29 months on a “turnkey” and give it to the city of Zenica. During negotiation activities that have been taken over the past year, “Sepco 3” is in competition with two german, one spanish and one italian companies showed the biggest power and the best price offered, and at the same time will enter in the structure of KTG Zenica and participate in the financing of project.
Otherwise, the company “Sepco 3” has built so far in the world more types of power plants with total power of 294.000 MW, and currently is implementing 16 projects in the world, and the annual turnover of this company amounted to 30 billion euros. Chinese firm with special care accesses to the project in Zenica, considering that in that way will enter to the european market in which it has not been present yet.
In accordance with an agreement between the chinese “Sepco 3” and the german company “Steag”, after project completion the “Steag” will continue to lead and maintain the facilities for the next 15 years.
