According to the announcements of the concessionaires, the Thermal Power Plant “Stanari” should start its commercial operation in mid-2016, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, Petar Đokić, has said.
Reminding that the thermal power plant had begun its trial operation at the beginning of January, Đokić said that this project was of great importance from the energy point of view, because the annual production plan of 2,000 gigawatt-hours represents around 28 percent of the average annual electricity production in Srpska. He said that this thermal power plant has the capacity of 300 megawatts, and the investment is worth 480MEUR.
Đokić emphasized that this project was of great importance from the economic point of view, too, because it employs a large number of workers. – There are around 600 employees at the moment, and after the thermal power plant has been put in commercial operation, it is estimated that the number of employees will increase to around 900 – Đokić said. He commented that the local community would benefit from the thermal power plant operation, as well as the Republic of Srpska through the filling up of budgetary and extra-budgetary funds. Đokić concluded that the construction of the Mine and Thermal Power Plant “Stanari” was one of the biggest projects implemented in the Republic of Srpska in the previous 10 years, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
