According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 29 September 2019 has decreased by 1.82 % compared to the same period in 2018 and reached 32.79 TWh.
On the other hand, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 1.34 % reaching a total of 28.29 TWh. Meanwhile, electricity exports dropped by 17.95 % in the same period to 4.5 TWh.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network dropped by 0.61 % to 911.8 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 12.53 % to 1,434.8 GWh.
