Electricity production in March 2020 increased by 3.3 % compared to February, to 3,908 GWh, while consumption of electricity dropped by 3.8 % on monthly basis and amounted to 3,073 GWh, according to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute.
Consumption of natural gas in March 2020 decreased by 4.4 % and amounted to 302 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same at 5 million cubic meters. Compared to March 2019, production of electricity decreased by 1.5 %, while its consumption rose by 2.4 %. Consumption of natural gas increased by 4.1 % compared to March 2019. In March, production of unleaded petrol decreased by 7.2 % and amounted to 128,000 tons, while its consumption remained the same and amounted to 28,000 tons. Production of diesel in March decreased by 2.3 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 250,000 tons, while its consumption rose by 10.7 % and amounted to 166,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 11.8 % and amounted to 30,000 tons, while its production also dropped by 20 % and amounted to 8,000 tons. At the same period, production of solid fuels decreased by 16.7 % to 2,025 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also dropped by 16.2 % to 2,090 thousand tons.
