Bulgaria: Lower electricity production in 2020
, SEE Energy NewsProduction of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 2 August 2020 has decreased by 8.09 % compared to the same period in 2019 and reached 24.08 TWh, according to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO.
Bulgaria’s electricity consumption dropped as well in the same period, by 3.73 % reaching a total of 21.99 TWh. Electricity exports dropped by 15.66 % in the same period to 4.47 TWh, while imports of electricity rose by 22.7 % to 2.38 TWh. The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network rose by 15.65 % to 831.6 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 9.93 % to 1,229.4 GWh.
