In October 2020 production of electricity in Bulgaria decreased by 2.7 % compared to August, to 3,000 GWh, while consumption of electricity rose by 6.9 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,632 GWh, according to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute. Consumption of natural gas in October 2020 increased by 44.4 % and amounted to 247 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same and amounted to 5 million cubic meters.
Compared to October 2019, production of electricity decreased by 11.5 %, while its consumption fell by 0.7 %. Consumption of natural gas increased by 35 % compared to October 2019. In October, production of unleaded petrol increased by 2.2 % and amounted to 93,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 12.8 % and amounted to 41,000 tons. Production of diesel in October increased by 4.8 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 196,000 tons, while its consumption also rose by 13.1 % and amounted to 216,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 31.9 % and amounted to 32,000 tons, while its production rose by 40 % and amounted to 7,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels increased by 31 % to 2,098 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also rose by 31.8 % to 2,172 thousand tons.
