Bulgaria, Production of electricity in 2022 has increased by 24.54 %
, SEE Energy NewsAccording to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period
between 1 and 30 January 2022 has increased by 24.54 % compared to 2021 and reached 5 TWh.
In addition, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 4.11 % reaching a total of 3.91 TWh. Surplus electricity amounted to 1.1 TWh GWh so far in 2022, 313.3 % more than in the same period in 2021. Baseload power plants (coal, nuclear) produced a total of 4.27 TWh of electricity in 2022, which is 32.84 % more than in 2021.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network rose by 22.53 % to 137.5 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 28.73 % to 179.6 GWh.
