According to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, production of electricity in August 2022 decreased by 1.8 %, compared to July, to 4,125 GWh, while consumption of electricity also dropped by 1.5 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,574 GWh. Consumption of natural gas in August 2022 decreased by 28 % and amounted to 136 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same and amounted to 1 million cubic meters.
Compared to August 2021, production of electricity increased by 6.8 %, while its consumption dropped by 5.7 %. Consumption of natural gas decreased by 30.6 % compared to August 2021, while its production dropped by 50 %.
In August, production of unleaded petrol fell by 0.6 % and amounted to 161,000 tons, while its consumption increased by 27.8 % and amounted to 46,000 tons. Production of diesel in August re- mained the same as in the previous month and amounted to 325,000 tons, while its consumption increased by 15.8 % and amounted to 242,000 tons.
Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rose by 15.4 % and amounted to 45,000 tons, while its production also rose by 10 % and amounted to 11,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels decreased by 11 % to 2,456 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also dropped by 11.5 % to 2,444 thousand tons.
