In the first half of 2020, thermal power plant Bobov Dol recorded a non-consolidated net loss of 3.9 million euros, compared to a loss of 7.15 million euros in the same period last year. The company’s total revenues dropped to 17.4 million euros in the first six months of 2020, compared to 24.7 million euros recorded in the same period in 2019. Total expenditures also fell to 21.4 million euros in the same period, from 31.8 million euros a year before.
The plant sold 520,855 MWh of electricity and 680,755 MWh of reserve capacity in the January-June 2020 period, down from 694,659 MWh and 706,424 MWh in 2019. TPP Bobov Dol is 630 MW coal-fired power plant commissioned in 2000, located in south-western Bulgaria. It was privatized in 2008 and local consortium Energy MK is the plant’s sole owner.
