Canadian partners interested in construction of new hydro power plants in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Energy, Environmental Development and protection Zorana Mihajlovic announced that agreements for investments in the construction of new power plants in Serbia will be signed soon. Ministry is talking with Canadian, Chinese and Arab partners for Bistrica and Djerdap HPPs.

-The agreement with Canadian partner for construction of reversible HPP “Bistrica” on Lim will be signed soon, as well as agreements with United Arab Emirates and China for HPP “Djerdap 3” on Danube. Signing an agreement for TPP “Stavalj” near Sjenica is also expected.

According to her estimation, energy is the sector that can provide launching the industry and enable our industry to be competitive.
She announced that office for expedited agreements of investors that plans investments in energy objects will be established.

Mihajlovic stressed that energy plan is also market opening, construction of new capacities, increase of energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources.
