CEZ Bulgaria To Invest 2.25 Mln Euro in Pleven Area in 2012

Power distributor CEZ Bulgaria said on 31st may it will invest by the end of the year a total of 4.4 million levs ($2.8 million/2.25 million euro) in Pleven area, in north central Bulgaria, for power grid upgrades.

The company plans to allocate the most of the funds for building new transformers and cable lines with low and medium voltage as well as for the replacement of poles, wires and power meters, CEZ Bulgaria said in a statement.

The power distributor has so far invested some 36 million levs in its electrical grid in the Pleven area.

CEZ Bulgaria, part of Czech power utility CEZ, began operations in November 2004, acquiring 67% of the power distribution companies serving the Sofia city, the Sofia region and parts of western and northern Bulgaria. Since 2004 it has invested almost 550 million levs in the rehabilitation, modernisation and development of the electricity infrastructure in western Bulgaria.
