Negotiation are expected to start soon on contract for CHP Novi Sad power plant construction
Electric power of Serbia, city of Novi Sad, municipal energy company and bid consortium signed today the protocol on negotiation for joint venture investment. The consortimum is consisted of the foreign companies, GGE Slovakia, Optima energostroy from Russia and Metka from Greece.
Joint venture project will include reconstruction of the existing facilities and construction of modern power generation facility for combined heat and power energy.
The new CHP plant will provide long term and environmental friendly energy supply. Total installed electricity power will be 400MW and heat energy power of 300MW which will supply 80.000 households.
Investment value is 320 mil euros and expected construction period will be 2 years. New gas-steam unit will be first new bigger energy power generation facility in Serbian energy system. This will influence occasional lack of electricity during the consumption peaks in coming years and expected demand increase, stated GM of EPS Markovic.
Representatives of consortium today also signed a cooperation agreement on gas supply with Oil Industry of Serbia, majority shareholder is Gazprom.
