According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in July 2019 amounted to 823 GWh, which is 11.9 % lower compared to July last year, when the production amounted to 934 GWh.
During July, 354 GWh of electricity or 43 % was produced in hydropower plants, 312 GWh or 37.9 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 78 GWh or 9.5 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 1,132 GWh of electricity, which is 3.7 % less compared to last July (1,009 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 280 GWh, 58.1 % lower compared to July 2018 (476 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 91 million cubic meters of natural gas in July 2019, which is 15.7 % less than in the same month last year. Natural gas imports stood at 142 million cubic meters, 34 % more than in July 2018. Crude oil production stood at 56,000 tons, approximately the same as in July last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 409,000 tons in July 2019, some 13 % lower compared to 362,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
