According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in April 2019 amounted to 836 GWh, significantly lower compared to April last year, when the production amounted to 1,186 GWh.
During April, 413 GWh of electricity or 49.4 % was produced in hydropower plants, 251 GWh or 30 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 123 GWh or 14.7 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 995 GWh of electricity, which is 6.3 % less compared to last April (1,062 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 455 GWh, almost two times lower compared to 869 GWh in the same month last year.
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 91 million cubic meters of natural gas in April 2019, which is 17.3 % less than in the same month last year. Natural gas imports stood at 182 million cubic meters, 111 % more than in April 2018. Crude oil production stood at 57,000 tons, approximately the same as in April last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 35,000 tons in April 2019, over ten times lower compared to 407,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
