International Financial Corporation (IFC), the member of World Bank Group, provided 38,8 million EUR for Wind Park Jelinak in northwest part of Split-Dalmatian County- it was stated from IFC.
IFC approved 15,4 million EUR valuable loans to the local subsidiary of Acciona Energia Company, part of Acciona Group, global infrastructure conglomeration seated in Spain and one of the leading companies in area of renewable energy sources. IFC mobilized additional 23,4 million from the UniCredit Bank within syndicated loan.
The Wind Park Jelinak will give significant contribution to Croatian energy production from renewable energy sources and improve electricity supply to households and companies in central coastal part of Croatia. Base of IFC for energy production from renewable energy sources is important part of our efforts to answer climate changes and improve accession to infrastructure” Tomasz Telma, Director of IFC for Europe and mid Asia, said.
The Wind Park Jelinak will increase capacities of Croatian wind energy by 30 MW i.e. 16% with reference to current height of 180 MW. It will contribute to satisfying bigger and bigger purchase for energy in the country and decrease dependence of import- it is stated in an announcement.
Wind Park Jelinak is expected to produce 63,8 GWH of energy yearly providing decrease of emission of almost 21.000 tons of greenhouse gas yearly.
Construction of this wind park began in 2012 and the beginning of commercial work is planned in summer this year.
IFC has approved financial assets in amount of 55 million EUR for wind park 43,7 MW strong near Sibenik.
