Swiss energy trading company Axpo Holding announced that it has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for electricity that will be produced by 111 MW wind farm currently under construction in Croatia.
The statement from the company said that the VPPA was signed with local company Kunovac, a joint venture of Finnish renewable energy company Taaleri Energia and Croatian ENCRO for a total of 1.8 TWh of electricity produced by the future facility. Axpo also said that this is the first such contract in the Croatian market.
The construction of the 111 MW wind project, located in Zadar county, started last year and it is expected that the wind farm will be operational in in early 2024.
