According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in September 2016 amounted to 777 GWh, which is 16.84 % more than in the same month last year, when the production amounted to 665 GWh.
During September, 352 GWh of electricity or 45.3 % was produced in hydropower plants, 321 GWh or 41.31 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 66 GWh or 8.49 % of total produced electricity. In this period, Croatia imported 874 GWh of electricity, which is 0.34 % more than in September 2015, while electricity exports stood at 229 GWh, which is 64.75 % more than in September 2015.
Regarding hydrocarbons production, Croatia produced 113 million cubic meters of natural gas in September 2016, which is 22.1 % less than in the same month last year. Natural gas imports stood at 106 million cubic meters or 65.6 % more compared to September 2015. Crude oil production stood at 54,000 tons (5.9 % increase), while crude oil imports stood at 276,000 tons or 26.2 % less than in the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 293,000 tons in September 2016, which is 24.5 % less compared to September 2015.
