According to the plan of power utility HEP, preparatory work for the construction of new unit in TPP Plomin C should begin this year if it is planned the plant to be put into operation in 2019th. Green NGOs and civil societies were harshly against another new coal project in EU.
September highlights the deadline until when management of power utility HEP announced the signing of a contract with Japanese Marubeni on the construction and management of Plomin C, investment worth one billion EUR. A year ago from HEP announced signing contracts for the first quarter of this year, then at the latest in April, than this spring answered that it was a very complex transaction which will be completed in the third quarter, then later in September, reminiscent of Novi list. However, MINGO is still waiting for a response of the European Commission, namely Directorate for competition on whether the envisaged agreement PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) between HEP and Marubeni is in accordance with the market rules of the EU.
