According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in July 2021 amounted to 977 GWh, which is 2.3 % higher compared to July last year, when the production amounted to 955 GWh.
During July, 353 GWh of electricity or 36.1 % was produced in hydropower plants, 408 GWh or 41.8 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 120 GWh or 12.3 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 931 GWh of electricity, 13.6 % less compared to last July (1,078 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 337 GWh, 33.9 % lower compared to July 2020 (510 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 66 million cubic meters of natural gas in July 2021, 13.2 % less compared to July last year. Natural gas imports stood at 206 million cubic meters, 11.4 % more than in July 2020. Crude oil production stood at 47,000 tons, which is 6 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 320,000 tons in July 2021, compared to 319,000 tons in the same month last year.
