According to the most recent data, Croatia’s Okoli gas storage facility is 87 % full and contains around 3.75 billion kWh of natural gas.
According to the European Commission’s recommendations and the Governmental decision, gas storage must be 90 % full by 1 November. Total annual gas consumption of Croatia is 2.9 billion cubic meters.
In late June, the Government tasked state-owned power utility HEP to procure 270.8 million cubic meters of gas (approx. 2.5 billion kWh) and store it at the Okoli facility in order to secure uninterrupted gas supply during the winter season.
