In July 2020 net electricity production in Croatia amounted to 955 GWh, which is 16 % higher compared to July last year, when the production amounted to 823 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
During July, 323 GWh of electricity or 33.8 % was produced in hydropower plants, 424 GWh or 44.4 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 124 GWh or 13 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 1,078 GWh of electricity, 4.8 % less compared to last July (1,132 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 510 GWh, 82 % more than in July 2019 (280 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 76 million cubic meters of natural gas in July 2020, 16.5 % less compared to July last year. Natural gas imports stood at 185 million cubic meters, 30.3 % more than in July 2019. Crude oil production stood at 50,000 tons, which is 10.7 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 319,000 tons in July 2020, which is 22 % less than in the same month last year.
