In June 2020 net electricity production in Croatia amounted to 920 GWh, which is 2 % higher compared to June last year, when the production amounted to 902 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
During June, 388 GWh of electricity or 42.2 % was produced in hydropower plants, 352 GWh or 38.3 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 98 GWh or 10.7 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 828 GWh of electricity, 12.1 % less compared to last June (942 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 448 GWh, 43.1 % more than in June 2019 (313 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 75 million cubic meters of natural gas in June 2020, 14.8 % less compared to June last year. Natural gas imports stood at 185 million cubic meters, 20.9 % more than in June 2019. Crude oil production stood at 49,000 tons, which is 9.3 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 279,000 tons in June 2020, which is 18.7 % less than in the same month last year.
