In October 2020 net electricity production in Croatia amounted to 1,354 GWh, which is 45.7 % higher compared to October last year, when the production amounted to 929 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics. During October, 714 GWh of electricity or 52.7 % was produced in hydropower plants, 425 GWh or 31.4 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 128 GWh or 9.5 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 841 GWh of electricity, 12.4 % less compared to last October (960 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 745 GWh, 83.5 % more than in October 2019 (406 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 73 million cubic meters of natural gas in October 2020, 15.1 % less compared to October last year. Natural gas imports stood at 197 million cubic meters, 4.2 % more than in October 2019. Crude oil production stood at 48,000 tons, which is 11.1 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 290,000 tons in October 2020, which is 26.4 % less than in the same month last year.
