Representatives of Croatian electricity transmission system operator HOPS, Siemens Energy and Koncar KET attended the completion of works on the static compensator (SVC) facility at the Konjsko 400/220/110 kV substation, as it is about to enter trial operation.
The contract for the delivery of this facility was concluded in November 2019 with Siemens Energy and included the preparation of documentation for production, then production and transport, installation and commissioning of SVC facility with a capacity of 250 Mvar. The value of the said contract is 14 million euros and the execution deadline was 24 months.
With the completion of project activities, which is expected in a month, the implementation of the SINCRO.GRID project in Croatia will be completed.
The project of advanced networks SINCRO.GRID was created by long-term cooperation of Croatian and Slovenian transmission and distribution system operators (ELES, HOPS, HEP-ODS, SODO).
The goal of the project is to solve the challenges in the management of the electricity system and the elimination of congestion in the network, which enables an acceptable level of safety of the electricity system and provides preconditions for the acceptance of new renewable sources. Reactive power flow management directly contributes to the regulation of voltage amounts, which improves the quality of voltage in the electricity system and increases the security of supply to customers in the wider area.
