Croatia: Record imports of electricity, drop in production
, SEE Energy NewsAccording to the national statistics Croatian power generation sector in july and august realized decreased electricity production of net -12%.
Increased summer consumption was managed with increased electricity imports. Only in july Croatia imported more than 1.000Gwh. During first since months of 2015 trend showed drop of production and increase of electricity imports for 17.1%.
Main reason for production drop was decreased production in HPPs for 65%. In the same time trend showed increase of production in power plants and wind parks.
The increase of RES electricity from wind parks and other RES facilities holds only 7.6%, with goal to increase that share to 20% as per strategy Europe 202020, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
